The Queen of Everything In-Between

If I should ever wear

a long, laced gown

or parade like a peacock

in an ugly gold crown,

may I be known in the land

and in the seven seas

simply as The Queen

of Moments In-Between.

Castles and courts may satisfy some,

but as far as jewels and jesters,

I’m not terribly keen.

Yes, I care only for

Moments In-Between:

I care for morning quietude

when sunlight embraces

the cold on my skin.

I care for laughing

fairy voices carried by

the Westward wind.

I care for sleepless

nights under the

Moon’s impish grin.

Better than riches or wealth,

the greatest treasure

belongs to no King.

It is hidden in the silvery silence,

the Moments In-Between,

when we realize this:

Even the stars can sing!
